Rwenzori Rare Metals (RRM)is training/ orienting Members of the Grievance Management Committee of both the District and sub county Level in the District Council Hall.
This training comes after a recently concluded public hearing on environment and Social Impact Assessment of the Makuutu Rare Earth Project which generated a lot of issues and grievances .
There has been a Planning Meeting this afternoon in the District council Hall, between National Forestry Authority (NFA), Busoga Forest Company (BFC)and Mayuge District Local Government, to resolve a Road construction Conflict and Removal of Forest Encroachers .
The 3rd Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon Rukia Nakadama has today 18/ Nov/ 2022 Commissioned the ground breaking for the construction of Wairasa Seed School in Buyemba Parish-Wairasa sub county, which will be undertaken by CHRISTONE CONTRACTORS LTD , at a total cost of Ugx 3,073,389,296.
Today we had a Site Handover ceremony in Maumu Village-Busakira Sub county where Worldvision Uganda intends to build a Dream School.

A Quarterly stakeholders monitoring exercise was today organized by Life Water International, an NGO implementing Water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program in partnership with Mayuge District Local Government.
With over 6,000 smallholder farmers and average acreage of 1.5, Mayuge District is one of the leading producers of Cocoa in Uganda and East Africa.
The District priotised the production of Cocoa due to the deep fertile soils and favourable weather conditions that support commercial production of the crop.
With support from Swisscontact, the District has continued to build the capacity of Cocoa farmers through the on farm delivery of Cocoa specific extension services championed by the district Cocoa focal point person; Emmanuel Kawuzi Waiswa.
A highly successful farmer’s field day was held today 8th September 2022 at Mayuge District Demonstration site. The field day was organized by the Production Department with the aim of bringing together farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural value chain for training on the best agricultural management practices.
The District Vice Chairperson Hon. Tasibula Peter Nkwanga, yesterday commissioned the District Projects that were implemented during Financial Year 2021-2022 which is in line with the monitoring and Evaluation Framework. The cost of all the commissioned Projects is 3 billion shillings.
Officials from Ministry of Health and other Development partners were in Mayuge today to check and assess the progress of training Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWS) This team of officers was led by Dr. Mwebesa Henry, the Director General of health services.
The CHEWS Training that commenced on 2nd May is held at Seaville Hotel in Mayuge Town council where there 168 participants from the 84 parishes of the District with Two chews from each parish.
Mayuge District in partnership with Swisscontact is implementing a 4 year project aimed at promoting food security among cocoa farmers across five selected sub counties of Kityerera, Bukaboli Bukatube, Imanyiro and Buwaya. The project was designed and set to achieve its objectives through; awareness creation, building of partnership linkages, increasing access to recommended/ improved planting materials for key food security crops such as Banana and sweet potatoes, as well as provision of training and advisory services.
