On Tuesday 23rd December 2025, District officials led by Assistant Resident District Commissioners (ARDCs) Mr. Abadi Saidi and Mr. Babi Hatim successfully launched several education department projects.
UGX 400M Solar Water Project Commissioned in Mayuge to boost WASH Services
On Thursday 6thNovember, 2025, Mayuge Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Lt. Hajji Walugembe Aramandhani commissioned a new solar-powered water system in Mitimito village, Kitovu parish-Kityerera Sub-county. This project, a joint effort with Life Water International/Water for Good will enhance water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services for the community, serving the local health centre, church and mosque.
Senior Management Meeting
A senior management meeting is convened every Tuesday at the Mayuge District Local Government. The meetings chaired by the Chief Administrative Officer, are a forum for deliberating on departmental issues and enhancing the provision of services to the community. It is composed of senior staff including heads of department, sector heads and Senior Assistant Secretaries from the sixteen Lower Local Government entities across Mayuge District.
Delegation of experts from KOICA visits Mayuge District Local Government
Today, a joint delegation of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Uganda experts and Ministry of Local Government officials led by Assistant Commissioner-District Administration, Mr. Ettedu JJ Geoffrey held an inception meeting with technical staff at Mayuge District Local Government. The meeting focussed on the upcoming project, "Strengthening the Implementation Capacity for Sustainable Rural Development in Uganda".
HODs and PBS Focal Persons in a training session
Ms. Asio Priscilla, who is both a representative from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and the District Planner for Ngora District, recently led a one-day training session. Held at the Mayuge District headquarters, the session aimed to boost the capacity of Heads of Departments (HODs) and Program Budgeting System (PBS) Focal Persons in preparing departmental budgets and reporting via the PBS.
Mayuge District Empowers PWDs with Assistive Devices
Mayuge District leaders, working with the Mayuge District Union of Persons with Disabilities, successfully obtained 150 assistive devices from Mission for Disability, a Christian organization in Busia. These devices will be used to support people with disabilities in the district.
Entry Meeting for National Assessment Team, FY 2023/24
The National Assessment Team from Pazel Conroy Consulting Firm led by Mr. Otim Geofrey, contracted by the Office of the Prime Minister has today Friday 22nd November 2024 held an entry meeting with Mayuge District team and started the exercise of conducting a three day national assessment with the overall objective of promoting effective incentives and behaviour, systems of procedures of importance for Local Governments' efficient administration and service delivery.
