The directorate of finance and planning is headed by the chief finance officer. It’s composed of finance department and planning unit. It has got a total number of 11(eleven) qualified staff. Also there is a total of 3(support staff.

The major objectives of the directorate are as follows:

Objectives

·        Improve upon the collection of revenue from all the resources.

·        Improve upon the financial management.

·        Monitor district activities both funded by local revenue and conditional grants.

The department is currently headed by the superintendent of works (civil) who is acting district engineer.

He is assisted by the senior water officer who is in charge of the water and sanitation sector. We have a borehole maintenance supervisor who carries out routine mechanical inspection of the borehole under the water sector and sanitation.

The department has two assistant engineering officers that is one civil and other mechanical. The civil one is in charge of transport/mechanical section.

Mayuge district education department was established in February 2001 and has now existed for ten years. During this period, the department has numerable achievements, constraints and challenges.

EDUCATION AND SPORTS

Mayuge district education department was established in February 2001 and has now existed for ten years. During this period, the department has numerable achievements, constraints and challenges.

Mayuge District was established by an act of parliament in 2000 and it’s located in the eastern region of Uganda. The headquarters are situated in Mayuge Town council 120km from Kampala the capital city and 40km from Jinja. It’s bordered by Iganga in the north Jinja in the west, Bugiri in the east and Lake Victoria in the south which is shared by Mukono, district, Bugiri, Mayuge itself and Jinja city.
